I’ve always been a conscientious journal writer while traveling, with volumes of handwritten pages detailing study abroad trips, years of working in China, and various vacations around the world.
This blog began as a chronicle of a trip around Southeast Asia with my husband, Gareth, and our three year old son, Hugo, while my husband directed a study abroad program. Now it is a continuing online journal of our journey as a family around the world.
Happy travels, everyone!
Hi there! We love your stories and have just nominated you for a “Very Inspiring Blog” Award! To accept, here’s what you’ve got to do: http://rosesontheroad.wordpress.com/2015/01/09/we-won-a-very-inspiring-blogger-award/ Nothing more inspiring than traveling the world with a young child! 🙂
Thank you for thinking of me, Alexis Rose! What a fun surprise that someone I don’t even know would be inspired by my little family adventure!
What a wonderful way to remember travels and family life at the same time!! We are a military family with friends all over the world and this would be a nice way for us to follow in their journey:). I’m glad I visited this site. I have also nominated you for the Liebster Award so that you can build a good number of followers to continue to tell your story! Here are some guidelines I was given if you would like to nominate anyone else. Also this is where your blog will be showcased:) http://adoptperu.com/2015/01/19/the-online-liebster-award/
Thank you, Jess! It is a wonderful way to keep in touch with friends and family. I hope some day Hugo can look back and have some memory of these things, too.
Hi Beth, I love the Taichung running route–I’m definitely going to try that one out! Question: have you done any half/harathons around Taiwan? I am currently searching but getting very frustrated by the lack of options in English. Any suggestions?
Hi, Jacob! Thanks for reading! Sorry it took me a few days to get back to you. Now that our trip has ended I’m not updating as often as I should.
I hope you had time to check out Calligraphy Greenway. It’s also nice to run on the campus at Tunghai University (東海大學) if you have a chance. I’ve heard that the trails at the Dakeng Nature Area can be fun to run, but I wasn’t able to go there myself.
As far as halfs and marathons, I’m sorry but I don’t have any inside scoop. I had luck asking about international races and running clubs on r/running on reddit. Good luck!
